I do online trading of shares. Suppose I invested Rs 4 lakhs in Fy2009-10. After selling all the holdings the remaining balance is Rs 2.5 lakhs. Can I show a negative income of Rs 1.5 lakh? If at all I make some profit, I have to pay 15%(for year 2009-10) tax on it? Also tell me what documents I have to submit as a proof of investment in shares? Is it a ledger?
